STREET NAME EXPLANATION
Tweede Leliedwarsstraat (city center).
The eponym of the Eerste, Tweede and Derde Leliedwarsstraat is the oldest, namely the Oude Leliestraat, which was already given its name in 1560. This got its name from the house ‘In de witte lelye’ on the Singel at the Jan Rodenpoortstoren (Torensluis).
After 1612 the name was transferred to the canal that was dug in the extension thereof and finally to the Nieuwe Leliestraat and Dwarsstraten located in the Jordaan.
The Tweede Leliedwarsstraat is a convivial street located in the heart of the Jordaan, between the canals Egelantiersgracht and Bloemgracht. Within walking distance of the Westermarkt, the Noordermarkt, Dam Square, the Negen Straatjes, the Anne Frank House and the Central Station. In short, a wonderful spot in the Jordaan. The neighborhood characterizes itself by the atmospheric streets with countless restaurants, cafés, stores and the markets. The apartment is easily accessible by car (S105), by bike and by public transport.
In the nearby located Q-Parking in the Marnixstraat a parking spot can be rented at short notice until you acquire a parking permit.
The apartment has been knocked through horizontally which has created a spacious (70 m²) light living with kitchen island with open fireplace (gas).
The kitchen island has cabinets and drawers at both sides. On the side of the dining room there are large cabinets to the left and right of the window. An abundance of storage space.
Behind the kitchen island to the right a bedroom/workroom is located with a view of the courtyard. Located behind the kitchen island to the left is a guest shower with toilet and space for the washing machine and dryer.
Using the staircase you reach a spacious and light landing on the upper floor which, to the left, provides access to 1 very large bedroom that could easily be divided into two bedrooms. When the electrical system was installed this was already kept in mind.
To the right of the landing another bedroom is located, spacious enough for a double bed and wall units. Adjacent, under the stairs, the central heating system is located.
Located at the back, with a view on the Westertoren is the bathroom with bath tub, double washbasins and toilet. There is enough space here to potentially separate the bath and the shower.
Located between the bedroom and the bathroom is the staircase to the roof where running water and electricity have been installed, with a beautiful view of the Westertoren, the Royal Palace of Amsterdam and the picturesque facades in the surrounding area. You could potentially use a part of the terrace for solar energy and still have enough space to enjoy the outdoors.
