Location:
The house on the Kruitmolen is located on a beautiful location near the Amstel and Ouderkerk aan de Amstel. There are various recreational amenities in the immediate vicinity, such as the Ouderkerkerplas, the Amstel, Elsehove, Rondehoep, Amstelbad, tennis courts, soccer fields, riding stables, a 27-hole golf course and multiple restaurants within walking distance.
Despite the rural location the accessibility with respect to Amsterdam, Amstelveen and Ouderkerk aan de Amstel is excellent. The Stadshart Amstelveen, the village center of Ouderkerk, downtown Amsterdam, as well as the office locations in Amstelveen, Amsterdam Zuidoost and the Zuidas can in no time be reached by public transport and by car.
Kruitmolen is a very quiet dead-end side street of the Amstel. Because of that, living outside with all its peace and privacy while still having all facilities within reach is possible here.

A little piece of history:
The Kruitmolen 7 is located near the gunpowder mill which was founded in 1718. In 1782 the mill exploded after which a new factory with ancillary buildings was built. Known as Buskruitmolen (Gunpowder mill) No. 3. The complex consists out of a laboratory, storehouses, a water tower and staff accommodation. Rare example of an eighteenth century gunpowder factory with nineteenth century modifications.
In 1709 an explosion took place in gunpowder mill Het Oorlogsschip on the Heiligeweg (now known as the Overtoom) in Amsterdam, property of the firm Cornelis van Tulden & Cie. A permit to rebuild was not granted by the city. They did grant a permit in 1710 to move the gunpowder factory to a site outside the city. The neighbors of the intended factory revolted against this, and thus plans for the branch could not proceed. In 1718 another permit was applied for, this time by the notable Nicolaes Calkoen from Amsterdam. The permit was granted and the company started, initially using a horse mill. After a few changes of ownership, the company came to Hendrik van Hoorn in 1742, who was described as a "gunpowder maker through and through ", and who also owned other gunpowder mills. The company remained in the hands of said family until 1843.
