STREET NAME EXPLANATION
Dug to the Kostverlorenwetering in 1413 in order to establish a shorter waterway to the Haarlemmer and Leidse lakes. An explanation for the name Kostverloren (“lost costs”) could, according to some, be that this canal, which until 1609 had been an apple of discord between Amsterdam and Haarlem, cost a lot of money in litigation. The name Kostverloren is used at various locations in the Netherlands.

LOCATION
The Kostverlorenstraat is located in between the Kostverlorenvaart and the Frederik Hendrikplantsoen, in the middle of the Frederik Hendrikbuurt. The Hugo de Grootplein is located only minutes away by bike. Here you’ll find a variety of choices between various restaurants, cafés, local shops and large supermarkets.
The hip district Westerpark is adjacent to the inner city of Amsterdam. A sought-after location, where you can combine quiet living with the immediate proximity of the convivial Jordaan. The wonderful Westerpark is located less than five minutes away by bike. Within a few minutes you can reach the beltway A10 and the accessibility with public transport is excellent as well.

LAYOUT
The spacious structure consists out of two stories on top of the patronage building of the “Onze vrouwen van Lourdes” church, originating from 1922.
A 10-minute walk from the Jordaan.

Entrance:
Using the stairs from the ground floor you can reach the hallway on the third floor with access to the apartment. There is, however, the possibility to create an elevator.

Oriental peace combined with Western efficiency. The living room inspired by the old concept of the daylight atelier with an imposing highly transparent steel light wall facing north. By combining high and low ceilings, separate spaces have been created surrounding the indoor patio without the use of walls and doors. Kitchen, living and dining room.

Located on this floor are the spacious, light living room with open kitchen provided with built-in appliances and the special interjacent patio which provides the ingress of daylight and sun in the living room and kitchen. Through this patio you can reach the spacious roof terrace on the fourth floor which can be extended to the upper roof on the front side. Thanks to the centrally located patio the seasons literally come to visit. In the summer the sun shines through the patio door and during the winter the snow is in the middle of the house. When it rains a special connection arises between the inside and the outside.

Through the hallway you can also reach the (bed)room and the separate toilet. Through the kitchen and the large bedroom you reach the roof terrace.

Located on the fourth floor is one more bedroom, a storage space and the modern bathroom provided with a designer bath tub, toilet, separate shower and double washbasins.

The location on the south and the differences in building height allow the sun to shine through the apartment in a playful manner throughout the day.
