LAYOUT

STREET NAME EXPLANATION
The brothers François Hemony (Levécourt, 1609 - Amsterdam, 1667) and Pierre Hemony (Levécourt, 1619 - Amsterdam, 1680) were the most important bell founders of the 17th century in the Netherlands. They were the first in the world to produce a pure tuned chime, and in doing so transformed the carillon into a full-fledged musical instrument. In the period 1642-1679 they would end up making fifty-one carillons.
