The street is named after nobility Adelheid Emma Wilhelmina Theresia, born as Adelaïde Emma Wilhelmina Therèse zu Waldeck und Pyrmont (Arolsen-Duitsland, August 2, 1858 – The Hague, March 20, 1934), princess zu Waldeck und Pyrmont, was the second wife of King Willem III of the Netherlands from January 7, 1879 until his death on November 23, 1890 and Queen regent of the Netherlands from 1890 until 1898.
